We’re out here shooting a music video on the coast in the Philippines and hit a bit of a cash problem. Came up short on props we need for the shoot. The studio’s wiring money over from the US but the banks are doing their whole verification thing and we’re not seeing it for another 3-4 days. Just sitting on our hands isn’t really an option right now. Any way to get a small amount of cash locally while we wait for it to clear?

Pretty sure there are US bank branches in the Philippines, Citibank has locations there. Have you tried just walking in and asking about a short-term loan?

Getting bank approval is probably going to take just as long as waiting on that US wire, so that’s not really solving anything. Better off looking into local lending services. The catch is you’ll probably need someone on your team with a Philippine passport, I doubt they’d give money to foreigners. You could try borrowing through Billease: https://loanfinder.ph/billease/ . Just don’t fall behind on payments, otherwise you’re right back to asking the studio to send more money to cover the debt.
