The whole idea of cryptocurrency relies on total online anonymity where people can send funds and swap coins securely. You’re supposed to pay for things and move funds while keeping your real data completely hidden. In reality, swapping digital assets or converting them to cash requires registering on major exchanges that force everyone to pass KYC checks. The entire point of privacy gets completely lost when you’ve got to upload passports to execute a simple trade. Are there any exchanges or swap sites left out there that don’t enforce these identity checks?

Governments heavily pressured the major trading companies over the last couple of years to track every single wallet. Most corporate exchanges folded instantly under that legal weight because they want to stay in the mainstream financial system. Peer-to-peer networks used to be a viable alternative, though finding a trustworthy counterparty there takes way too much effort now. You can look into decentralized networks that run directly through smart contracts since they don’t hold custody of your assets.
