Our biker club’s been friends with a group of fellow riders in France for a while now. They even flew out here once to join us for a group ride and a bike festival we put on. Now they’re inviting us to something similar over there. Not everyone in the club can make it work, but I personally can. So I’m wondering, would I be able to rent a motorcycle once I’m there? Obviously I’m not flying out with my own bike, dealing with the shipping just isn’t worth it.

That’s awesome that you guys have got that kind of international friendship going. And it’s cool you fly out to each other’s events like that. I think it’s worth asking the French guys, maybe someone’s got two or more bikes and could lend you one for the ride.

Asking your buddies for one of their bikes probably isn’t the best move if you ask me. Guys treat their motorcycles like their firstborn, that’s basically asking to take their girlfriend out on a date. Owners renting their bikes out directly tend to charge a way fairer price anyway, no strings attached.
